The delegation of the German federal state of Schleswig-Holstein has met the representatives of Voronezh State Agricultural University and visited one of EkoNivaAgro’s dairies.
The main purpose of the visit was to strengthen business relations with Voronezh oblast in several areas, including education.
Voronezh State Agricultural University and Christian Albrecht University of Kiel are currently developing close ties. At the meeting, the parties discussed directions for future collaboration: joint academic programmes, scientific research and cultural exchange. A permanent working group will be established for this purpose.
'The meeting at Voronezh State Agricultural University has been productive for both parties', said Hans-Joern Arp, a parliamentary deputy for the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein. 'Together with the representatives of VSAU, we have agreed that our universities will prepare their profiles in order to find common grounds for further cooperation.'
When in Voronezh, the delegation of the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein had an excellent opportunity to pay a visit to one of EkoNivaAgro’s dairy farms. Stefan Duerr, EkoNiva Group President, welcomed his countrymen on the farm in Sredniy Ikorets village. He presented the holding structure to the guests from Germany, told about dairy farming, dairy processing, crop production and other activities of EkoNiva. Also, the guests had a tour of the dairy and could see how things work inside the farm.
'When we come back to Germany, we will definitely give an account of the positive changes in Russia', said Hans-Joern Arp. 'EkoNiva gives a wonderful example of efficient development of production in Russia. I am convinced that our regions need to take steps towards each other, and mutual understanding will be the starting point in our joint work.'
Next year, Voronezh oblast will welcome the Parliament's Council of Elders of the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein.
