Representatives of the Russian Federation Ministry of Agriculture and German-Russian Agricultural Policy Dialogue arrived in Germany to take part in BioFach 2018.
The delegation headed by Yevgeny Gromyko, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, visited the international exhibition to get acquainted with the pioneers of organic production in Russia. The red ribbon was cut by the guests after a solemn greeting.
Yevgeny Gromyko visited each Russian booth and tasted organic juices, Siberian nuts and organic greens for salads. The Deputy Minister paid special attention to Savinskaya Niva organic farm, which is a part of EkoNiva Group. Yevgeny Gromyko emphasised that such enterprises should expand their territories. He also expressed gratitude to Stefan Duerr, President of EkoNiva Group.
‘We value Stefan Duerr’s extensive experience in organic farming and thank all the participants of BioFach. Russia is represented by only nine companies this year. Nevertheless, they are very experienced producers that supply their products not only to Russia but also to China, India, North and South America. We came here to discuss the prospects of organics development in Russia and learn about the challenges the producers encounter. We will take all this into account in the new organic production law.’
